Small Business HR Makeover – Part Two
In step one we evaluated your current HR situation. You gathered as much information as possible about your HR status to see the whole picture. Now it’s time to really look at the picture and identify any insights to get to the core of the problem and figure out what our HR solutions are.
Here are some powerful questions to ask yourself to get to the heart of the problem:
- Is the time spent on HR adding value to my business or taking away?
- Is the time spent on HR efficient or learning as you go?
- Are the people managing HR just getting by or motivated by the work?
- Is employee morale increasing or decreasing? Why?
It’s necessary to pinpoint exactly where your weak spots are so you can move to the next phase, create HR solutions. But make sure you are taking the time to identify all the major concerns or you could be making the wrong choices when you go to implement the HR solutions.
If you find yourself struggling in this step, don’t be afraid to ask for help. You can survey employees or ask for outside help to use their expertise to identify challenges to create the most effective HR solutions. These people are the best to go to when trying to identify a problem because they’re the ones that study the industry or are directly affected by these solutions!
