Technical Manager of the Application Development Team

The Technical Manager of the Application Development team manages all aspects of the design, programming, and implementation of all applications and systems from initial design through testing, roll-out, and evaluation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress within the department.
  • Designs, develops, and modifies applications including test environments.
  • Manages the preparation of detailed specifications used to write, design, code, test, debug, and maintain complex programs.
  • Consults with internal departments to identify and document user requirements and performs detailed systems analysis for proposed development.
  • Manages and directs four to five software developers. Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, and trains new staff as needed.
  • Effectively leads the team to meet deadlines in a dynamic, and fast paced environment.
  • Completes various tasks including requirement gathering, technical design, project management, unit testing and production support simultaneously.
  • Functions efficiently in a diverse team with the ability to operate independently under minimal supervision.

 

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, information technology or related field
  • 10+  years’ technology experience
  • 6+  years’ experience in  the following:
  • systems architecture
  • programming (C#/.NET)
  • programming in web environments with databases (MSSQL)
  • experience with .NET
  • SQL databases and writing queries experience based in Transact SQL
  • Strong web development experience (JavaScript, HTML, Ajax and Silver Light a big plus)
  • Sound Object Oriented Design experience

 

  • MS Visual Studio 2010 or later
  • Familiarity with development and administration of Microsoft Sharepoint 2007 or later
  • Familiarity with accounting financial system preferred
  • Ability to create documentation and comply with departmental and business requirements
