Talent Development Manager

Our client in the Huntington Beach, CA area is seeking a Talent Development Manager to join their corporate office and Operations team. This role works directly with the Restaurant Operations team and is charge of developing the staff across the different locations. Restaurant/ Hospitality industry experience is highly preferred to understand the training material. Excellent benefits and work life balance offered.

 

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Creates a culture of continuous improvement and development of in restaurant operations
  • Experience writing training development material, working directly with Career Development Director and Creative Manager
  • Must be able to handle and have experience with operational rollouts and procedures into compelling and effective training course including written, video, Instructor led training and e-learning formats
  • Work side by side with Restaurant Training Managers, actively developing training teams with in the restaurant
  • Approaches development from a side by side approach, utilizing different formats for learning to ensure effectiveness
  • Coordinate the development and filming of Quick bytes for hourly training and rollouts
  • Thoroughly understands all training materials and the methods of implementation
  • Identifies and develops regional trainers to support new restaurant openings
  • Develop, promote, and convey new training ideas to the team
  • Demonstrates high standards of personal excellence by continually seeking ways to improve performance in order to achieve goals
  • Act as training subject matter expert as needed and provides proactive and reactive support in response to problems

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years, full service, corporate restaurant training experience (ideal 3-5 yrs)
  • High personal integrity , professionalism and maturity
  • Engaging and articulate speaking/training presentation skills
  • Experience in instructional technologies including rapid e-learning authoring tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, as well as a service-oriented philosophy
  • Ability to work independently, balances multiple tasks, build project plans, and execute project tasks on schedule.
  • Ability to educate & demonstrate fundamental and advanced training and coaching skills
  • Experience working with team members remotely, using phone, email and online collaboration tools effectively
  • Able to work with changing priorities and business objectives
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, strong word processing and intranet skills are a must
  • Ability to work effectively on a cross-functional team with team members throughout many levels of the organization
  • Actively seeks and incorporates feedback
  • Maintains a high level of drive and able to work at a quick pace
  • Must be able to travel to support restaurants and New Restaurant Openings and various conferences, and training meetings across the country
  • Able to work a flexible schedule as business needs require
